I would like thank everyone for such a great start to our new school year as we entered a journey together in Classical Education. This 2019-2020 school year has begun with success. I wanted to share some information with you as we continue work together towards our ultimate goal of educating your child.

Our new morning routine:

When students arrive on campus, we have a plan for the utmost supervision and we start with a critical element in building our students routines and procedures. Although our office is open earlier and adults are in the building, here is our morning procedures to adhere to for our students.

7:30    Supervision begins on campus, students arriving on school grounds will all go to their proper lines on the courts.  Breakfast lines are escorted back at this time.

7:40     Recess begins:Students will be escorted back to their recess areas by grade level. Students that arrive during or after this time are asked to leave their backpacks on the courts and proceed to the recess area.

7:55     Students on the playground will be brought to the courts to retrieve their backpacks for school in an orderly manner.

8:00     Students arriving after this time proceed to the office and will be marked as tardy.

Please be informed:

Communication is key for our continued success. There are times when it is important that we can focus on improvement methods for our school, as well as supporting our school in events. I would like to point out two ways to be involved.

Site Based Council:  Oro Grande Classical Academy will meet three times a year for the 2019 – 2020 school year. At the council, we have an opportunity as a team to focus our attention to our Comprehensive Needs Assessment and Integrated Action Plan. We will discuss data relating to curriculum, assessments, attendance, safety and many other areas that will allow informed decision making.

PTAC:  Our Parent Teachers Association will work together to strengthen our school community and support student success. They will meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 5:00 p.m. Please be on the lookout for the meeting times if they change, and be sure to follow our Oro Grande PTAC Facebook page.

I will look forward to seeing our change continue to improve the lives of our students through virtue based education and instilling a sense of wonder in our learning in the Western tradition.
